Within The Trees, My Place As An Artist

For many years, common to many people, I have been going to the forest simply for tranquility. For some time, I pondered over esoteric ruminations about the true essence of the forest. Alternately, I would often be absorbed with meditations of self purpose and my search for acceptance. Writings by Ralph Waldo Emerson ultimately provided valuable guidance through particular aspects of my questions and transitions. These photographs, although not answers in themselves, are evidence of my notions and musings during more contemplative times in the forest.

Alone on my wanderings in the trees, I would find myself lost in imagination, inspired by my intuitive voice, and filled with the impression there is something for me to learn by being there, attentive and inquisitive. Off the usual worn path, the forest becomes an extraordinary place, and I become different. In a cadence with the silent rhythm of the trees, my soul becomes restful and my curiosity heightened. There are few clues to the secrets the trees help conceal. Those secrets have become the focus of my quest. At the end of a visit I would usually depart with but a few valuable morsels of prized discoveries. Although I have gained some understanding of what is really there for me, conclusive insights remain evasive, and I am still simply a visitor among the trees. It seems I am forever drawn to return, if not only for pleasure, but also, so I might better understand the enigmas of the forest, and maybe, myself as well.

When will I see the forest through the trees?
Is it all an allegory?
